support.How you make a difference:The Substance Abuse Counselor
provides direct care services to patients with mental, emotional,
and substance abuse issues, working closely with the treatment team
to fulfill the interdisciplinary treatment process for patients
with a dual diagnosis. This includes developing and conducting
program activities for education and treatment related to substance
abuse, as well as providing individual and group counseling
sessions. The counselor is responsible for patient assessment and
the development and implementation of Recovery Plans, within the
company's standards.Key Responsibilities:Conducts group and
individual substance abuse (SA) activities for patients and
develops related programs.Assesses and evaluates patients for
co-occurring disorders and determines the level of care
required.Ensures timely completion of all necessary records and
reports.Maintains professional development through in-service
education and other resources, while complying with Human Resources
requirements.Shows cultural sensitivity, treating each patient as
an individual, and considering their cultural background when
providing care and treatment.Additional Details: PRN Evenings
$42.16/Hour Certified Substance Abuse Counselor - CATC II, III;
SUDCC II, III; CADC II, IIIQualifications &
Requirements:EducationBachelors degree from an accredited college
or university in a social services related field.Or Certified in
the substance abuse fieldOr Experience in the substance abuse
fieldExperienceAbility to work with computersAbility to work with
software used by the department.Relevant experience in provision of
addiction counseling servicesLicenses/CertificationsLicensed in an
addiction counseling specialty (Certified Addiction Counselor,
Registered Addiction Counselor, Certified Addiction Professional
(CAP)) certification is strongly preferredCertified as a Counselor
in Training under supervision or licensed in social work,
counseling or psychologyMust be able to obtain and maintain CPR
