The 267-bed hospital offers major medical services including a Level II Trauma Center as well as specialized Cardiovascular Care, Stroke Care, Orthopedics, Neurological Surgery, Comprehensive Cancer Care, Maternity Care, and da Vinci Robotic Surgery. It is the sole provider of obstetrical services, along with the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Shasta County. In addition, the hospital's network of care includes Mercy Home Health and Hospice and Dignity Health Connected Living. As one of the area's largest non-profit employers, we are proud to give back to the community by providing many programs and services to benefit overall health.Visit to learn more.#RN-DHResponsibilitiesAbout this departmentOur Level II Trauma Center provides board certified doctors, skilled surgeons, sub-specialists, and all the necessary support services and equipment to care for all medical conditions including seriously injured trauma patients on a 24-hour basis. This includes monitoring all phases of care from pre-hospital transport to rehabilitation. Mercy is one of only a few hospitals in the nation with a dedicated Orthopedic Traumatologist. From illnesses in the middle of the night that need emergency care to broken bones and cuts, Mercy Medical Center Redding's Emergency Department (ED) is ready to serve the community.The Director of Emergency Services is responsible for:.the overall quality of care provided by the nursing personnel. Advises medical staff, department heads, and administrators in matters related to nursing service and strategies.Interpreting policies and objectives of nursing service to staff and community groups.Monitorring the operations of the nursing staff and ensures compliance with regulations on organizational and governmental standards and practices. Schedules staff and conducts employee performance reviews.Providing nursing care to patients on an as needed basis.QualificationsEducation and Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (e.g. BSN) or equivalent education and experience and Master's degree in nursing or other-related field (e.g., MSN/MBA/MHA).Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience and two (2) years of leadership experience.Licensure:Registered Nursing License (RN) in state of practiceBLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCCCEN or CCRN preferred#LI-DH
