The 267-bed hospital offers major medical services including a Level II Trauma Center as well as specialized Cardiovascular Care, Stroke Care, Orthopedics, Neurological Surgery, Comprehensive Cancer Care, Maternity Care, and da Vinci Robotic Surgery. It is the sole provider of obstetrical services, along with the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Shasta County. In addition, the hospital's network of care includes Mercy Home Health and Hospice and Dignity Health Connected Living. Position Summary:
The incumbent assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides for direct and indirect care to patients. The incumbent functions as a member of the health care team who appropriately delegates and provides oversight to the nursing care team members. The position reports to the Director Perioperative Services
Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1 year Operating Room and/or CSOR experience within the last two years in acute care hospital OR
    2 years recent circulating experience in outpatient surgery center.
  • Associate's in Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing
  • Current California RN license
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications required (must be certified through the American Heart Association)

    NOTE: If it can be supported operationally, training may be offered to applicants having 2 years of recent acute care experience in a Critical Care or Emergency Room.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing preferred
    • Scrubbing and circulating experience
    • C.N.O.R. and T.N.C.C. certifications
