California Anesthesiologist Job Details Location: Eureka, California (Zip: 95501) – Northern California healthcare jobs Employment Type: Per Diem, Locum Tenens Anesthesiologist Start Date: April 1, 2026 End Date: Ongoing Shifts: Minimum of 5 shifts per month preferred; nights and weekends required Shift Duration: 8 to 12 hours per rotation Guaranteed Hours: 8 hours per shift Trauma Level: Level 3 hospital Estimated Weekly Salary: $9,980 - $10,520 Anesthesiologist Qualifications Active California medical license (required for presentation) Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology Minimum 2 years of recent hospital clinical experience as an anesthesiologist Experience in locum tenens or per diem anesthesiology jobs preferred Willingness to work nights and weekends Ability to provide case logs for surgical specialties Explanation required for clinical gaps over 3 months Fellowship training in anesthesiology preferred Key Responsibilities Deliver anesthesia care for general, pediatric, obstetric, trauma, orthopedic, vascular, neuro, thoracic, and pain management cases Perform general, spinal, epidural, and regional anesthesia procedures Manage post-operative pain including epidural and extremity blocks Oversee ventilation management and evaluate acute volume/blood pressure issues Place central and arterial lines Participate in day, evening, and night shift rotations, including weekend and remote call coverage Collaborate with a team of anesthesiologists to provide high-quality patient care Discover the charm of Eureka, California—where the Pacific Ocean meets the redwoods.
