Purpose of the Position:

To promote the values and culture of Eureka! by being a leader in the Training team. This is an exempt position that will report to the Sr. Director, Ops Services & Talent Development. The position will require frequent travel for New Restaurant Openings, management training programs, restaurant visits and ongoing personal development seminars and/or conferences. While this position will be based at the Support Center in Hawthorne, CA, due to current COVID related requirements, this position will be remote until further notice

This leader will manage the day-to-day functions of the Training department, ensuring our systems and content are effective and engaging for the end user. In addition, this energetic leader will partner with the Operations Services and Human Resources team to assist in creating and launching new policies, programs and training curriculum, to ensure our teams are fully trained and 100% compliant in adherence to all legal requirements. The successful candidate will be open to and thrive in ever evolving circumstances and have a strong ability to gather and implement "best practices" throughout the organization.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • At least 21 years of age
  • Four-year college degree in a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years in training, leadership and/or curriculum development role
  • Proficient in Google Suites and Microsoft Office (ie. Publisher, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Experience in learning design and managing LMS systems - desired
  • Experience with Adobe Captivate - desired
  • Spanish speaking - desired

Position Responsibilities:

Write and create new, effective and engaging training materials, workshops, policies and programs for operations

  • Manage all learning content for dining room and kitchen team members and managers
  • Create engaging Weekly Focus Points for hourly team members to ensure an elevated service and hospitality
  • Manage the Manager in Training program (ie. schedules, onboarding process, required certifications, etc.)
  • Assist in creating, updating, and assigning Talent Development Programs (eg. Sr. Manager to AGM, Bar Manager)
  • Manage the New Restaurant Opening process, content, team and timeline
  • Manage the "Dose of Discovery" program (New Manager Training Class)
  • Assist with planning, preparation and execution of all Talent Development driven events and conferences
  • Report on training progress metrics
  • Follow-up on all outstanding certifications and training requirements to ensure 100% completion
  • Litigation Control: Avoid legal challenges by adhering to all state/federal regulations and the Employee Handbook
  • Achieve Manager ServSafe Certification
  • Conduct restaurant Training Audits
  • Conduct Mid-Term and Capstone certifications for Managers in Training
  • Maintain and manage Learning Management System:
  • Manage and maintain all LMS Training Programs
  • Lead the design, creation and implementation of all content, assessments and reporting through collaboration with each department in Support Center
  • Maintain LMS document library o Control and maintain all system functions and settings
  • Maintain all vendor relationships and partner with them to ensure system optimization as needed
  • Keep abreast of changes/updates as applied to "Learning" to keep functionality current and efficient o Record all events, classes and item completions
  • Record all ServSafe Manager Certifications, Food Handler Cards and E-Signatures
  • Manage, respond and resolve (if possible) all LMS Admin emails within a 24-hour period
  • Communicate all scheduled maintenance and LMS updates with the restaurants as needed
  • Manage all reporting and communicate all Overdue Learning on a weekly basis

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products and supplies weighing 50 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist motion; working with and around hot, cold, and hazardous equipment in a fast paced and congested environment that will occasionally be loud, hot, cold and/or physically demanding. Position requires frequent travel that consists of driving; limited travel that consist of driving and/or airplane flights for a period of one or more days therein requiring one or more overnight stays. Notice of travel may be given with very short notice. Position requires occasional training that may take place on or off- site, by phone and/or online.
