Job Description:
This position has responsibility of performing inspections for
identified Charter facilities in high fire areas, ensuring
violations are identified and tracked and appropriate corrective
action are taken to remedy safety hazards in accordance with
California Public Utility Commission (CPUC). MAJOR DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES Patrol inspections in all facilities of Southern
California along with detailed facility inspections required as per
documented CPUC inspection requirements. Complete all patrol and
detailed inspections including fire threat, proximately to overhead
power line facilities, terrain, and accessibility / Location.
Required to perform record keeping, maintaining inspection records
while being prepared to supply CPUC inspection records upon a 30
day notification Responsible for taking or insuring appropriate
corrective action to remedy safety hazards to our facilities. The
position maybe required to perform temporary repairs if a safety
hazard is evident. During the inspection process, ensure all 3rd
Party violations are identified, reported and tracked. Perform and
or maintain an auditable maintenance program for our facilities and
lines, while maintaining documentation including timelines for
corrective action based upon violation levels/severity. Monitor and
maintain an auditable Maintenance Program and or corrective actions
of violation priority levels as follows -Safety and Reliability as
specified in the priority levels -Type of facility and/or equipment
-Location, including whether violation is located in extreme or
high Fire threat zones -Accessibility -Climate -Impact to
operations, customers, electrical or communications workers and
general public REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Required Skills/Abilities
and Knowledge Must possess an understanding of on detailed CPUC
inspection compliance. Must possess and apply relevant knowledge of
Charter Communications, CAL OSHA, General Orders 95 and l28 rules
and regulations. Must have complete understanding of the structural
and/or architectural integrity of the network in order to
successfully perform required inspection and recommend appropriate
course of action. Relevant knowledge of personal computer hardware
and software and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs,
particularly Microsoft Excel. Ability to navigate through city
streets quickly and effectively through the use of and
understanding of GPS technology. Ability to safely drive company
vehicle. Knowledge of computerized test equipment processes,
standard test processes and cable TV modulation schemes. Ability to
use various electronic devices to communicate between service
location and office. Must be able to maintain regular attendance in
adherence to Charter Communications and Regional guidelines. Able
to work overtime, weekends and late shifts if required. Ability to
interact with coworkers in a positive manner, follow directions and
work rules and accept constructive feedback. Must possess good
problem-solving, record-keeping and organizational skills. Ability
to accurately measure distances, using tapes or other measuring
devices. Must be able to estimate various distances while driving a
company vehicle to calculate signal leakage. Must have solid time
management and organizational skills. Required Education High
School diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Industry and vendor
specific certifications and training (NCTI, SCTE, BCT/E) preferred
Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record within
Company required standards Required Related Work Experience and
Number of Years Minimum of 2 years--- experience at a higher level
Technician preferably at FT IV or Maintenance Tech. PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS Preferred Skills/Abilities and Knowledge Ability to

multiple projects and tasks Ability to prioritize and organize
effectively Ability to perform detailed administrative tasks and
motivate others to comply Moderate knowledge of residential and
commercial facility construction design/layout Basic knowledge of
company products and services Must possess excellent verbal and
written communication skills. Preferred Education Preferred Related
Work Experience and Number of Years WORKING CONDITIONS Must be able
to read and type on a computer. Possess manual dexterity, the
ability to see and hear in order to utilize and read test
equipment. Must be able to drive for long, extended periods of
time. Must be able to walk for long distances frequently throughout
the day. Drive Company vehicle, use laptop computer, and basic hand
