Job Description:
*Job Summary* The Millwright determine the tools, equipment,
materials, method, and sequence of operations and setups required
to completely fabricate, fusion weld, braze and cut various metals
used in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plant
machinery, equipment, and structures. They will also operate cranes
and hoists for handling all types of materials. All duties are to
be performed while exhibiting and championing safe work and
environmental compliance practices. Less experienced candidates
will be brought in as Welder/Repairperson until all Millwright
skills are acquired and leadership is comfortable with performance.

$35.00/hour *Responsibilities* * Perform fabrication, construction,
erection, installation, maintenance, repair, modification, and
re-work of machinery, equipment (non-automotive), and structures
per blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions* Diagnose
failures, malfunctions, and other breakdown of machinery,
equipment, systems, and structures; modify, rebuild, or repair by
fabricating, fitting, adjusting, installing, constructing,
disassembling, reassembling, and welding.* Fabricate frames,
structures, and component parts from sheet metal, flat or rolled
stock, etc.; perform any type of welding, brazing, and cutting
after preparation of surfaces and materials* Perform layout from
blueprints, welding manuals, and sketches* Perform such typical
distinguishing duties related to layout as fabricating square or
round ducting involving non-complex angles; repair ducting,
including the cutting and fitting of replacement patches in elbows
and transitions of squares to rounds; cut and fit patches for
separator cones, shells, screw cases, dust collectors and conveyor
lines; repair and weld cooler shells and frames and kiln shell
sections; build framework for buildings, forms, and screw
installations; fabricate skip pans; repair guards; build
non-complex hoppers; patch and repair chute holes and openings;
repair fan wheels, including replacement of blades or component
parts of fan; repair dust dampers; build non-complex slide gates;
repair or replace pipe lines (welded lines only); fabricate and
install cylinders on belt idlers; repair stairways and handrails;
fabricate and build non-complex platforms.* Check own work for
proper dimensions, contour alignment, fit, proper functioning,
quality, safety, and conformance to specifications* Set up and use
rigging and cribbing as required* Pick up of parts from the
storeroom, as required* Returns tools, equipment, surplus parts,
and materials to designated areas once job is completed, keeping
areas clean, orderly, and safe. Replaces and/or constructs
serviceable guards.* Operates cranes and hoists for handling all
types of materials; performs, assists, and instructs in rigging
crane lifts; sets up and takes down booms and jobs as required;
inspects and changes cables, blocks, hooks, and other attachments;
checks and replenishes water, oil, tire air, and fuel on the crane*
Performs duties of Dust Collector and Luber* Performs clean-up
duties in all areas of the facility *Education* High school
diploma/GED *Requirements/Qualifications* * Ability to read
blueprints* Knowledge of metallurgy* Ability to read, write, and
verbally communicate in the English language* Familiarity with
computers* Must be able to obtain and maintain a certificate of
competency from the state of California. Crane operators are
required under state law to recertify every five years* Ability to
sit, stand, stoop, and bend for extended periods of time (up to 8
hours) as well as walk on all types of surfaces (uneven and/or
slippery ground), & physically climb on equipment; must be able to
walk long distances, climb ladders, stairs, and stockpiles, stoop
and crawl under and into enclosed spaces* Must be able to lift and
carry heavy items using proper lifting techniques and/or equipment*
Ability to work in surroundings that include heat, dust, vibration,
heights, and confined spaces* Must be able to use proper Personal
Protective Equipment as required; ability to see and hear safety
indicators and warnings* Ability to work in all weather conditions:
heat, cold, wet, dry, and/or dusty conditions and near hot kiln
process* Will have exposure to all levels of noise that require the
use of hearing protection* Exposure to cement, clay, limestone, and
various chemicals*Preferred:*Preferred knowledge of all types of
equipment used in the manufacturing of cement *Conditions of
Employment* Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer
pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and
background check. Some positions require FMCSA-regulated ongoing
