Description Lactation Educator RN located at St. Joseph Hospital in Eureka, CA. Position available is Part Time, 8-hour Day shifts. Accountable for the direct and indirect care for infants and women both in the inpatient or outpatient clinic setting. Responsible to provide postpartum maternal and neonatal assessments. Develops feeding plans to address the nutritional needs of the infant that may include but is not limited to breastfeeding support, breast pumping support, and supplementation as appropriate. Provides lactation support and education to mothers as directed by referral or in the outpatient setting after discharge. Providence caregivers are not simply valued – they’re invaluable. National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire. 2 years of experience providing lactation care in a Labor and Delivery, Post Partum, or NICU department or in an outpatient mother baby clinical setting. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing International Board Certified Lactation Consultant upon hire. Or Certified Lactation Consultant upon hire. Or Lactation Educator upon hire. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors.
